Call for Expressions of Interest – Members of the Press
The United Nations Office of the High Representative for Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States and the Government of Turkey call for expressions of interest from members of the media for sponsorship to attend and cover the Midterm Review of the Istanbul Programme of Action in Antalya 27-30 May 2016.
The Turkish Government will sponsor one journalist from each Least Developed Country (LDC). Sponsorship will include travel to and accommodation in Antalya, Turkey from 25-30 May plus a modest daily stipend.
Sponsorship will be granted on a discretionary basis. Interested applicants are required to be nationals of LDCs and must be representing a recognized media organization headquartered in one of the LDCs. Please refer to the full list of 48 LDCs.
Interested applicants are requested to complete the Expression of Interest form no later than 13 May 2016, 12 noon (EST, USA), explaining in the relevant fields how they will cover the event and providing details of previous work which relates to the topics and themes due to be covered in Antalya. Journalists representing print, radio, television and online media outlets are welcome to apply. Each journalist is expected to produce two stories on topics relating to the LDCs and to provide UN-OHRLLS with direct links or downloads of these files.
